DAYTON, Tenn. -- Shorter's volleyball squad looks to extend its season opening winning streak to six as it travels to Dayton, Tenn., on Wednesday, Sept. 7 for a non-conference tilt with Bryan College at 7 pm. The Lady Hawks, who are off to the program's first-ever 5-0 start, open a stretch of five matches in four days with their outing against the Lions (2-6), who snapped a three-match losing streak on Sept. 3 with a five-set victory over Warner University.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Shorter holds a 4-3 edge in its all-time series with Bryan. The Lady Hawks defeated Bryan in straight sets last season.

EFFICIENT HAWKS
Shorter's top three hitters are racking up high numbers of kills at a high rate of efficiency. Freshman Jasmine Crook, who leads Shorter with 58 kills through five matches, is hitting .227 despite her last two outings where she has combined for 17 errors. Freshman Tori Bradley (46 kills) has 23 kills against 10 errors in her last two matches and is hitting .229 for the year while senior Jessica Cooper has been on fire, posting a sizzling .446 hitting percentage en route to 48 kills.

STILL STEADY
In light of the gaudy numbers being put up by Bradley, Cooper and Crook, perennial All-SSAC selections Jordan Corder and Loren Olive have been as reliable as ever. Corder, who missed Shorter's opener, has 150 assists in four matches while Olive ranks fourth on the team in kills (31) and second in digs (43). Olive has nine aces so far this season and needs just 52 to tie Katie Van Hofwegen for the top spot on Shorter's all-time aces list.
