Kansas City, Mo. - In the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Women's Golf All-American selections, Shorter College's Daniela Vargas has been named to the First Team. This award comes on the heels of the Lady Hawks' 14th place finish at the NAIA National Championships last week. Vargas finished at Nationals with a four-day total of 318 (79-78-79-82), finished tied for ninth overall. In the Region XIII tournament, she captured her second straight low medalist honors, after taking first in the Tusculum-hosted McAmis Memorial Tournament at the beginning of April. Vargas, a sophomore from Ibague, Colombia, took two additional titles at the beginning of the season: first in the Birmingham-Southern Ann Rhoads Invitational, and the following week in the SCAD Invitational.
