Hawks Tennis takes back-to-back wins

ROME – Shorter University men's tennis team ended this weekend with two more tallies in the win column after defeating Gadsden State and Savannah College of Art and Design.
The Hawks played host to Gadsden State Friday evening, taking a win of 8-1 after faultless matches in the singles division by Romain Ferreira, Arturo Lifshitz, and Grayson Jones; each giving Shorter a win without a loss in their respected match-up.
In doubles play, No. 1 duo, Ferriera and Florain Etienne gave a seamless 8-0 performance against opponents, Zain Navab and Aaron Triplett. Joshua Jones and Colt Kelley followed suit also taking an 8-0 victory in the doubles No. 2 position.
Shorter traveled to Macon, Ga. Saturday afternoon to take on Savannah College of Art and Design, taking victory number two of the weekend, 5-4.
In the singles No. 2 slot, Romain Lefevre gave the Hawks a convincing win against Kaan Yaylali, with a 6-1, 6-1 final taking 12 of 14 games.
Grayson Jones also held on in a three set battle to help propel Shorter over SCAD by one match with a finish of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
The Hawks next take the court on April 10 when they play host to Emory. Match time is set for 2pm.
