Dwight Rainey (Men's Basketball)

Dwight Rainey was a member of the 1965 conference champions and led the Hawks all four years in free throw percentage with a career 86 percent average. Rainey also led the team in field goal percentage in 1966 and 1967, and led the team in points per game in 1967.

Rainey helped his team to 94 wins in his four-year career, and earned the Hustle Award in 1967. Upon leaving Shorter, he was a top assistant to coach Bill Foster for 13 years, and spent 32 years at Clemson in the athletic department as a highly respected senior athletic administrator, during which Clemson won four National Championships.
