KANSAS CITY -- Shorter University's Paul Chelimo has been named the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, Tamala Daley has earned NAIA Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Ashlie Stewartson has been tabbed the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the organization on Wednesday evening.

The trio earned the national recognition for their performances during the week of April 25 - May 1 at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Rio Grande, Ohio at the University of Rio Grande.

It is the second national runner of the week award of the outdoor season for Chelimo, a freshman from Iten, Kenya, who also captured NAIA National Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors on April 7.

At the Mid-South Conference Championships on April 30, Chelimo ran to first-place finishes in the 1,500-meters, 10,000-meters and the 4x800-meter relay.
